Description of Selected News: "Nuclear talks will succeed if Europeans act wisely: Rafsanjani

TEHRAN (MNA) -- Iran and the European Union trio will reach an agreement on nuclear talks if the Europeans behave wisely and don’t make extreme demands, Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Friday.

“If the Europeans show wisdom and don’t make extreme demands, we can reach an agreement because the solution is open to us,” Rafsanjani told thousands of worshippers at Friday prayers.

Iran’s legitimate right to use nuclear energy meant for civilian purposes cannot be ignored, he added.

Nuclear talks are currently underway between Iranian negotiators and the ambassadors of Germany, France, and Britain in Tehran.

The global arrogance will finally give in to the Iranian nation’s determination to use nuclear energy for civilian purposes, the former president asserted.

Rafsanjani said most of the countries in the world are seriously concerned about the attempt by the big powers to deprive other nations of their accepted and legitimate right to civilian nuclear technology."
